A Little Deeper

One of our authors sent me this poem and requested it be posted anonymously. Enjoy.
-Lady E

There’s nothing left.

All you feel is pain.

No

one

loves

you.

There’s nothing left.

All

you

are

is

numb.

Why are you here?

No one cares about you.

You

weren’t

meant

to

live.

You

collapse

into

darkness.

The whole world is black.

You take your weapon of choice.

Just

one

more

time, you say.

You breathe in,

you breathe out.

You press down

HARD.

You breathe a sigh of relief.

Colors everywhere.

Exhaustion flows out your veins.

You went a little further than last time.

So what?

It’s

just

a

little

deeper.

Best Friends

Best friends always have your back
Best friends stand up for you even when you’re wrong
Best friends will pick up the phone and chat like they saw you yesterday when it’s been months
Best friends keep secrets
Best friends know when you need a hug
Best friends protect you
Best friends will always listen
Best friends are a shoulder to cry on
Best friends will laugh with you
Best friends will squeal, laugh, and cry with you about your crush on a boy they’ve never met
Best friends never have IOUs
Best friends will loan you their favorite shirt when you’ve spilled ketchup on yours
Best friends make waffles in the morning without knowing how to work to waffle maker
Best friends can be trusted with your embarrassing photos, videos, and stories
Best friends will never tell your secrets
Best friends stay best friends no matter what
A best friend is something everyone needs to have

Talking to boys. An awkward poem by Lady Elisabeth

Hey there.
I like your...
Everything
Hey-
I wanted to tell you
That you smell like coconuts
I like coconuts.
Do you think maybe...
Never mind.
Did you know that I still have a baby tooth?
Yeah...
Um..
So where do you go to school?
Oh cool.
Me? No, I'm homeschooled.
Yes, really...
Hey do you watch Doctor Who?
Oh. Why not?
Hey...
Do you...
I mean, will you...
Can we...
There's this dance...
And maybe do you want to come with me?

afraid of the dark

years and years i've been in this place
with big shapes and contraptions to haunt me
not even a shard of glass to look at my face
nothing to heal the scars that are upon me

the sun rises and sets and i stand by the window
occasionally a bird whistles at me
i see the children play and i want to be with them
but i can't because of these hands that belong to me

i cannot eat and i cannot drink
and i have no one to talk to
therefore i observe and i think
even at the times when i don't want to

i'm barely human, i'm unfinished
my father didn't wake up
i'm not augmented and therefore diminished
but i do not cry or wail like a pup

with no blanket to shield and no light to see
i wonder what's going to become of me
with my torn up bed and wall of pictures
they're my only company

one day i wonder what would happen
if i went to sleep and didn't wake up
like my father who was old and gray
but i cannot live like this, it is enough

if you're reading this, please come and save me
i'm afraid of the dark, i don't know what to do
don't ever leave, don't ever forsake me
i want to hope that i am worthy of you.

wanderlust - by jocee

flowing, whispering, haunting, growing
waiting, belittling, wanting, knowing
secrets that are held beneath the clouds
oh how i want to find them now.

sitting, thinking, fiddling, singing
looking, feeling, standing, ringing
the sounds that i hear and the sights that i see
could one of them be only for me?

in this small town with my old carpet bag
and my blue good dress and my brown straw hat
waiting for a train to take me away
anywhere, anyone, to let the time fade away

rustling, chatting, clinking, fearing
bumping, skimming, milling, nearing
imagining on a boat that takes me far into the sea
with no one else, just i, myself and me

eating, drinking, dancing, sleeping
laughing, acting, sighing, weeping
imagining my life if i wasn't here
maybe on the streets of paris

london, athens, montreal, tokyo
new york, beijing, rio, moscow
traveling the world, along the seven seas
being who i was intended to be

a traveler, a sightseer, a dancer, an artist
with my incurable case of wanderlust
anything but this small town that i'm in
and by golly i won't know where to begin

just hop on a train that'll take me away
where i'll forget the time of the day
i'll venture and roam around the world
with my incurable case of wanderlust.

Supernova Part Two: The Sorrows of a Young Lady Named Sophie Grace as She Boards an Aeroplane (A Poem in Two parts By Lady Elisabeth

Oh my love
Can I truly bear this?
To be so far away?
They say London is vast and exciting
Some say its beautiful
But I don't care a whit for cities

Isaac my love
If I close my eyes
I can see your sparkling blue ones
I can almost hear your last words to me
Don't go
I need you Sophie Grace

No! I cry out
The wheels start turning
The frame of this metal bird lifts off
Any other day, I would stare out the window
Laughing at the world

But today, my Love?
I look out the window
Tears in my eyes
Longing to be again
On the ground

I think I can almost see you Isaac
Down in Mr. Hiller's cornfield
Staring back up at me
Are you crying for me as well?
But that's just a fantasy I suppose
But I'll whisper your name once more
I'll let the angels bring my words down to you
Are you there Isaac?
Are you there?

Supernova Part One: The Wish of a Boy Named Isaac Upon a Single Star ( A Poem in two parts byLady Elisabeth)

I made a wish
on a star
For you to be mine forever
I wished for us
to be happy
Together
In fields of dragonflies
and magic
Time would stand still
The world would be ours
When we kissed
We would be one
And the world would dissolve
Into oblivion
But it wouldn't matter
It would be our supernova
Chaos in its purest form
Love deep and guttural
Perfection in a single embrace
We were naught but consciousness
Drifting together through the cosmos
Not caring about the consequences
The only sounds we would know
Are the echos of the Universe
And the whisper call of your name
Throughout the galaxies
Sophie Grace
Sophie Grace
Sophie Grace
As our falling star traced its way
Past the bright full moon
I saw that it was not a star
But an aeroplane
Carrying you far away from me
But still I cry out
Sophie Grace!
Sophie Grace!

once upon a time - by jocee

there was a boy
who lived in a village
and his only friend was his fishing pole

he'd go down by the pond
and sit the sun
and tell the pole all his troubles

there was a girl
who lived in big house
and her only friend was the girl in her mirror

she'd sit in her room
and brush her hair
and tell the girl in the mirror all her troubles

the boy grew up and his hair turned gray
his fishing pole is gone, his only friend
but he doesn't mind, because he has another pole
and lots of other friends

the girl grew up and her hair turned gray
her mirror is broken, her only friend
but she doesn't mind, because she has another mirror
and lots of other friends

the boy had married and had children
and built a house by the pond
and his children had children
of whom he's more than fond

the girl had married and had children
and moved into a house by the pond
and her children had children
of whom she's more than fond

and every night his grandchildren come to the house
and sit excitedly in a circle
and they beg to hear the story
that he's already told them so many times

about how he met a girl whose only friend was the girl she saw in the mirror

and every night her grandchildren come to the house
and sit excitedly in a circle
and they bed to hear the story
that she's already told them so many times

about how she met a boy whose only friend was his fishing pole

how they laughed and cried and hugged and fought
how hey skipped and ran and cantered and trotted
and their mirror and fishing pole was long since forgotten

and so they tell their story night after night
and each begin their tale with "once upon a time"

they smile at their grandchildren's faces
and continue after those four simple words

and dear reader, as you read this poem
i am sure that you can guess
that like the pairing of love and lace
the rest of the story fell right into place

~grab your pen and scribble down some words. you never know what might happen.~

A Boy and A Girl (A poem by Lady Elisabeth)

I knew a girl
With dark diamond eyes
And a smile
As sweet as the rain

She knew a boy
With clouds in his past
And his eyes
Were full of such pain

She took his hand
And taught him of love
But his gaze
Was still ever so sad

So she held him tight
And whisked him away
To places
So perfect and grand

He loved her so true
But it never could be
Whispered
Voices inside of his ears

He'd rather be dead
Than be without her
But he left
Taking only his fears

If you see a man
With nothing to lose
And eyes
That are full of regret

He can't find a woman
With dark diamond eyes
Her heart torn
By invisible threats
